In spring of 2019, I earned my black belt in Budo Taijutsu (a self-defense form of martial arts). This took over four years to earn and was a year-round commitment. In addition to attending my own martial arts classes, I volunteered as a SWAT member, which stands for Special Winning Attitude Team. As a SWAT Member, I helped teach younger martial arts students techniques.
Favorite Thing about SU
I love the small class sizes and community on campus. The professors know you by name and they will do anything to make sure you are successful.
Advice for New Students
Get involved in at least one club or organization. It is the easiest way to make friends on campus and meet others with similar interests as you.
