The Office of Academic Support is proud to introduce the student staff for the spring 2016 semester!
Angel Carter is a Junior at Stevenson University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Due to her passion for helping people, Angel hopes to land a job in the medical field after graduation in 2017. At Stevenson, she is a member of the International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi), the National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi), and she also works in the School of Business library. Angel began working in the Office of Academic Support Spring 2016 as our Student Assistant. She co-coordinate’s Girl Talk events and assists with other promotional & clerical duties for the Office of Academic Support
Courtney Thomas is a Senior at Stevenson University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Human Services. Courtney began working with The Office of Academic Support during the Spring 2016 semester for her practicum. She works closely with Mrs. Terra Hall, Director of First Year Experience with planning for upcoming Mustang Days. Courtney also assists The Office of Academic Support with fulfilling their objective in helping students achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. While working directly with her peers to promote academic success, Courtney has been able to work on her own personal goal of evolving into an outstanding professional.
Lexus Brooks is a Junior at Stevenson University. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. Lexus began her internship with the Office of Academic Support Services at Stevenson in the Spring 2016 semester. She has been on Stevenson University's Dean's List since the Spring 2015 semester. Lexus is a member of the Black Student Union, the Human Services Club, and is also a BSU Allure Model. After graduating from Stevenson University, Lexus intends to continue her education at the University of Pittsburgh: School of Social Work to obtain her Master’s degree. With her degree, Lexus plans to help individuals who have disabilities and help to remove the stigma that is placed on those individuals.
Morgan Gallagher is a Senior at Stevenson University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Human Services. Morgan is currently completing her Senior Practicum with The Office of Academic Support at Stevenson University. Morgan works primarily with student-athletes to assist student athletes with balancing academics and the demands of playing a collegiate sport. Morgan is heavily involved in her role in the midst of balancing work, school, and personal life. She works diligently in aiding Ms. Tasha Gooden in planning and implementing Study Hall for students athletes here at Stevenson. As a former athlete she has been able to provide a unique and effective approach to assist student athletes. Morgan's future goal is to become an Athletic Academic Advisor at a college or university.
Myles Wong is a Senior at Stevenson University. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Humans Services. Myles began working with the Office of Academic Support in the Spring semester of his 4th year. As a uniquely well-rounded individual, Myles has originated from a very diverse background of cultures. Myles seeks to use the knowledge and experiences he has gained throughout his life journey as a stepping stone to reach his first goal. Upon receiving his degree in the Spring 2017, Myles will set his sights on being accepted into the Peace Corps program to serve in a foreign nation for 2 years. Being a “Jack of all trades”, there is no limit to Myles desire in seeking knowledge and growth.
