Activities for Campers

Campers Get Hands-On Experience at Science Camp

We provide our campers with hands-on learning opportunities to create a fun, interactive, and educational environment.

At Stevenson's Summer Science Camp, we aim to give our campers a fun and educational experience! Activities vary from year to year, as different SU faculty and staff rotate teaching camp. In the past few years, we have offered a variety of classes including the following:

  • Biochemistry
  • Food Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Robotics
  • Physics
  • Astronomy
  • Microbiology
  • Forensics
  • Healthcare

Students have used soldering irons to build their own robots, created their own worm compost bins, grown bacteria from different surfaces around the building, conducted an “autopsy” on a banana person, worked on molecular biology projects, and much more! Join us this year for plenty of fun, hands-on activities!

Lindsey Jones, M. Ed.
SoLVE Program Coordinator
Science Camp Director

Lindsey Jones is the self-proclaimed “Biggest Science Nerd in the World!”. Her love of science started in elementary school and continued through her career. She has taught high school physics, chemistry and earth and space science. One summer she attended the “Educators in Space Academy”, basically Space Camp for grown-ups, and that started her love for space and all things NASA. Lindsey even worked as an educator at NASA, talking to students all across the country about the amazing science and engineering going on at NASA, and of course about astronauts. At Stevenson University she works with the students in Chemistry, Physics and Organic Chemistry to help they achieve maximum success in those courses.
