To share best practices for infusing climate change and sustainability concepts across the curriculum and integrating them with experiential co-curricular initiatives, the BEE hosted a professional development workshop at Loyola University Maryland. Special emphasis was placed on combining scientific and societal approaches to understanding the societal implications and effects of climate change in an effort to build salience and agency among students. The day-long workshop included a keynote address by Tom Pelton (Environmental Integrity Project and WYPR host), a panel of experienced educators, and interdisciplinary activities intended to merge disciplinary approaches and to integrate them into curricular and/or co-curricular experiences.
