Joseph W. Ritsch is the Producing Artistic Director of Rep Stage, the Award Winning Professional Regional Theatre in Howard County. In addition to directing the Rep Stage productions of Venus in Fur, Sunset Baby, Technicolor Life, Antigone Project: A Play in 5 Parts, The Other Place, Dorian’s Closet, and All She Must Posses, Joseph’s recent directing credits include Machinal (UMBC), The Amish Project (UMBC), Pride & Prejudice (Catholic University), the multiple Helen Hayes nominated production of OLIVER! (Adventure Theatre) and The Understudy(Everyman Theatre). Joseph holds an MFA in Theatre Arts from Towson University, a BA in acting (with a dance composition minor) from The School of Performing Arts at The University of Maine, and completed his initial graduate studies in the acting track of the Professional Program at Playwrights Horizons in New York City. Joseph is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC). Joseph is also a member of Theatre Washington's Board of Governors. Upcoming directing projects include Sweeney Todd (Rep Stage) The Importance of Being Earnest (Everyman Theatre) and The 39 Steps (Rep Stage).
