Jenny Male , MFA
Jenny Male is a director as well as fight & dance choreographer in the DC/Baltimore area. Directing and choreography credits include How I Became a Pirate and Tinker Bell (Adventure Theatre), The Secret Garden, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, [title of show], Spring Awakening, A Year With Frog and Toad, Avenue Q, Evil Dead, and Into the Woods (Red Branch Theatre Company), Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse and Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel (Children’s Theatre of Charlotte), A Christmas Carol, A Chorus Line, Noises Off, and Urinetown (Arts Collective), Tecumseh!, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Macbeth (Tecumseh Outdoor Drama), and As You Like It, She Kills Monsters, Twelfth Night, and Argonautika (Howard Community College). Her production of Argonautika was invited to perform at the region’s Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in January 2016. Jenny is Associate Professor of Theatre at Howard Community College where she teaches voice, dialects, movement, stage combat, musical theatre, and Shakespeare performance. Jenny is a certified teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors and serves as Resident Fight Director for Rep Stage (AEA). Jenny holds an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University.
