Deirdre McAllister is an interdisciplinary theatre artist, musician and educator based in Baltimore, Maryland. She currently teaches acting and theatre for social change at Stevenson University and Towson University. She received her MFA in Theatre Arts from Towson University and a BA in performance and arts administration from Suffolk University. Most recent directing credits include a staged reading of Sally McCoy by Alice Stanley at the Strand Theatre Company, and Brides of Tortuga with the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. Recent performances include playing Canary Mary in F@#*ing A by Suzan Lori Parks at Iron Crow Theatre Company where she also served as music director, Connie Albright in Red Death by Lisa D’Amour for Psychic Readings, various roles in The World is Round with Acme Theatre Company, and Virginia Poe in an immersive play The Mesmeric Revelations of Edgar Allen Poe for Submersive Productions. Upcoming projects include writing an original adaptation of Candide by Voltaire with glam-electro-pop music, and directing a devised play, Exquisite Baltimore, with the Oven Theatre Company.
