What is critical thinking?  Rob Jenkins offers a wonderful breakdown of this overused and under analyzed concept in a recent column for Chronicle Vitae.  It is not, Jenkins notes, simply a term that sounds good but means nothing.  What is it then?  Take a close critical look at Jenkins' piece to find out!

Please join School of Humanities & Social Sciences faculty for presentations on global issues, including human trafficking, holistic health, and free speech.  All are welcome!

Students from Stevenson's Public History program participated in "spring cleaning" at Antietam Battlefield in Sharpsburg.  Read more about the project here.

Students in Professor Ashley Kniss' ENG152 class had the opportunity to experience life on stage in Elizabethan England this week.  Professor Ryan Clark brought the students into the world of Shakespearean Theatre and onto the stage of SU's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Students learned about play performance and acting techniques from the period and even had the chance to try on some costumes.  Midsummer runs through this weekend with performances at the Inscape Theatre on Friday and Saturday at 7pm.

Congratulations to the newest members of Tau Upsilon Alpha the Human Services Honor Society.  Sixteen new members were inducted into the Stevenson chapter on 29 March 2017.  Many thanks to Professor Lauri Weiner who advises the Honor Society and also serves as the National President and Dr. John Rosicky, Department Chair, for hosting the induction ceremony.  Congratulations, too, to HSR scholarship winners Kelly Schwager and Alexis Young, pictured below with Dr. Rosicky.
