Interested in helping others?  Do you want to support individuals and/or communities in need?  Check out this new video profiling Stevenson's Human Services major.

In this hands-on major you can focus on addictions counseling, services for children, or human services administration.  A well-designed internship and practicum program helps students to find and fulfill their passions and often leads to job placements in the field.

Welcome to the Spring 2017 semester!  Whether you are just joining the Stevenson community, about to begin your final semester, or somewhere in between, we wish you a productive and inspiring semester and hope to see you at many of our upcoming HaSS events.

Writing for the political blog, The Hill, Frederick M. Lawrence makes a compelling case for a broad education as central to American democracy.  He writes that beyond military or economic strength, nations are also defined by their ability to drive innovation and generate new ideas: "the literacy and intellectual sophistication that underpinned the founding of our country remains essential to our future. They enable both America's external impact on the world and the internal functioning of our economy and our democracy."  Simply put, studying the arts and sciences helps to prepare engaged citizens for a lifetime of success.
