      If you are considering transferring to Stevenson University, we offer an information session designed to fit your unique needs. Transfer Tuesdays are special sessions offered once a week to potential transfer students and their families.

       

      Attend this informative session to learn about scholarship and grant programs, transfer of credits, admission requirements, and more. You'll also get a chance to tour both campuses and get a feel for what Stevenson is all about.

      Repurposeful - Artists' Talk Time: 9:30am - 10:45am Locations: School of Design - Owings Mills Campus - North Details:

      Glenda Richardson and Rosalind Robinson of the African American Quilters of Baltimore will discuss quilting techniques that conserve materials, resulting in beautiful textiles, environmentalist efforts, and nostalgic contributions. In addition to the quilts on display in Repurposeful, Richardson and Robinson will share additional works.

    • Book Talk: Neo-race Realities in the Obama Era Time: 5:00pm - 6:30pm Locations: SD 101 Soundstage - School of Design - Owings Mills Campus - North Details:

      Neo-race Realities in the Obama Era expands the discourse about Barack Obama's two terms as president by reflecting upon the impact of neo-racism during his tenure. The contributors examine how identities become the target of neo-racist discriminatory practices and policies in the United States. Individual chapters explore how President Obama's multiple and intersecting identities beyond racial binaries of Black and White were perceived, as well as how his presence impacted certain marginalized groups in our society as a result of his administration's policies.

      Presented in collaboration with Our Many Ways of Being Collective, Center for Diversity & Inclusion, Communication Department, and Arts Alive!

      Film & Moving Image Artist-in-Residence Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm Locations: Owings Mills Campus - North Details: Producer Capella Fahoome - Movie Producers are the power behind the scenes, the ones who make the magic happen…or at the very least give directors the space to make that magic happen. Local Producer Capella Fahoome ("Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey," "Motherland," "Notown") has compiled an impressive body of work, especially in the documentary field, having collaborated with local filmmaker Ramona Diaz (a former artist-in-residence) and others. Come join us as she explains what drives her and how you, too, can learn the secrets of cinematic enchantment, in a presentation she calls "The Outsiders Guide to Filmmaking...and Life in General (or Exploring a Path for the Rest of Us).     • Visiting Writer and Editor Nate Brown Time: 3:30pm - 7:30pm Locations: SD 101 Soundstage - School of Design - Owings Mills Campus - North Details:

      Fiction writer and Managing Editor of American Short Fiction Nate Brown will be on campus to discuss working in editing and publishing, running a top lit mag, and getting your own writing published. Then at 6:00 p.m., he will read from his own fiction, which has been published in The Iowa Review, Mississippi Review, Five Chapters, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Publisher's Weekly, Lithub, and Barrelhouse.

      SoDA Classic is an exhibition celebrating 13 years of programs by the Society for History and Graphics (SHAG) and its emergence as the Society of Design Arts (SoDA). View the past programs from a selection of the best posters and a look forward to the future of presentations and presenters as we explore new horizons in design.
