Graduation Information
Students begin the graduation process by applying for graduation using the WebXpress link on the SUNow Portal. For those who plan to graduate in May or August, an application should be submitted during the fall semester. Additional information can be found as soon as it is available on our Commencement pages linked below.

Are you ready to graduate?
Graduation is not an automatic process. All students must apply for graduation in Self-Service. Please read the details below to ensure a smooth path to graduation, earning your degree, and celebrating the occasion.

Undergraduate Student Requirements
1. Upon accumulating 90 credits schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to ensure you are on track to graduate.
a. Prior to the meeting you should plan out your last 30 credits in Student Planning.
2. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and 120 credits are required to graduate.
a. Certain majors may have higher GPA requirements
3. Apply for Graduation Before the Start of Your Final Semester

- Click on Graduation Overview
- There is a $25 graduation application fee due at the time of application.
- You will receive a confirmation e-mail to your SU e-mail account upon submission.

Graduate Students
Graduate students should meet with their assigned student success coach one semester prior to their last semester of enrollment. Students should apply for graduation by the listed deadline.
Graduating with Academic Honors
Degrees with Latin honors are conferred on undergraduate students who achieve the following cumulative grade point average:
Stevenson University does not round the GPA
- Summa Cum Laude: 3.900 - 4.000
- Magna Cum Laude: 3.700-3.899
- Cum Laude: 3.500-3.699
Financial Holds
Students with a financial obligation to the University will be unable to receive their diploma and transcripts requests cannot be processed until the hold is cleared. Please contact the Office of Students Accounts at studentaccounts@stevenson.edu or (443) 334-3500 to resolve any financial holds.
Cap and Gown
Students can obtain cap and gown ordering information via the Commencement Website in March. Students who need cap and gown information prior to March should contact the Starting Gate Campus Store.
Commencement Ceremony:
Commencement ceremonies are held annually in May. Graduates from the entire academic year (December, May, and August) are invited to participate.
Diploma Information
Diplomas are sent via standard U.S. mail the month following degree conferral. Diplomas are sent after all final grades are received and degree requirements are confirmed complete.
Diplomas are 11 x 14 inches in size. Frames are available for purchase through The Starting Gate - Campus Store at Owings Mills. Please call (443) 352-4062 or email sustore@stevenson.edu
The official academic transcript, not the diploma, is considered the certifying document to verify a degree. Graduates will be issued one diploma. Additional copies will not be provided, however, a replacement diploma may be requested by alumni.
Diploma Replacement
Replacement diplomas may be requested due to the name change from Villa Julie College to Stevenson University, due to an official personal name change, or due to a lost or damaged diploma. The replacement diploma may only be requested by the alumnus in writing using the Replacement Diploma Order Form.
The fee for a replacement diploma is $50. Please note: Effective Fall 2008, all replacement diplomas will feature Stevenson University, even if the degree was earned prior to the name change.
