MAD AS HELL Time: 11:00am - 7:00pm Locations: Art Gallery - Greenspring Campus Details:
MAD AS HELL - Mia Halton: "Focused with precision, [women's anger] can become a powerful source of energy, serving progress and change." Audre Lorde
In her newest installation of mural painting, drawing and ceramics, Mia Halton explores the power of rage to foment revolutionary social movements. She references history, including the parallels between the women's movements of the 1990s and today, calling notions of progress into question. As a member of the Me Too movement, Halton understands women's anger as a tool for both change and healing. MAD AS HELL is a rallying cry for the application of individual and collective power -- fueled by rage -- to accomplish the goals of contemporary women's movements.

The Shadow Means It's Real is an exhibition curated by independent publishing house, Homie House Press (HHP). They open dialogues with their collaborators that collect ideas in motion to heal shattered pasts. By taking part in revising the archived histories of their heredity, they are pursuing healing work for survival. With this thoughtfully curated experience, they take you on a voyage through ideas and concepts that vacillate between the loss and finding of home. This is the in-between that they accept and fully step into with their hands, hearts, and homes open. Awaken your kin as we prepare for the happy rebellion.
