Fall 2018 Film & Moving Image Artist in Residence – Elissa Blount Moorehead
Join us for a reception and presentation by Elissa Blount Moorhead, artist, curator, and author who has created public art, exhibitions, and cultural programs for the last 25 years. She is currently a principal partner at TNEG film studios, (along with Arthur Jafa and Malik Sayeed) which creates films and time based-installations. Elissa will also be presenting classroom workshops November 5–7, sponsored by the Film & Moving Image department's Artist-in-Residence program.
Elissa co-founded Red Clay Arts in NYC where she curated/produced over 20 exhibitions and multimedia projects. She served as curatorial advisor for The Contemporary, board member for The Maryland Film Festival, a Public Art Commissioner in Baltimore City, and is the author of P is for Pussy, an illustrated "children's" book. Recently, Elissa received the Ruby Award and the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fellowship for her exhibit, As of A Now; and was awarded the 2018 United States Fellow grant for film.
