The Perfect Match

Anh Nguyen
Counseling and Human Services / Human Resources Professional Minor

Anh's major and professional minor combine to provide her with all the tools she needs to achieve her career goals.

Combining the Counseling and Human Services major with a professional minor in Human Resources sounded like the perfect match for junior Anh Nguyen—and it was.

“With my major already being Counseling and Human Services, I wanted to find another route within that major and to expand it more towards my liking.” The customization of her coursework has allowed her to explore new avenues and passions while also staying on track to succeed.

Anh has always possessed a strong desire to help and care for others, and Stevenson has given her the resources to foster that passion and turn it into a career. “I found myself wanting to help individuals and learning how to motivate employees within an organization or company.”

While she cares deeply for those around her, she says that she wouldn’t be who she was today if it weren’t for her professors caring for her, too. “If I had gone somewhere else for my bachelor’s degree, I don’t think I would be able to really form any connection with my professors. By developing that connection and bond with my professors and advisor, it enabled me to obtain informative and helpful guidance.”

Anh graduated with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management in 2023 through the Bachelor’s-to-Master’s program offered at Stevenson.

"A sense of caring and someone wanting you to succeed is something that I value greatly as a student. By developing that connection and bond with my professors and advisor, it enabled me to obtain informative and helpful guidance."
