Leading the Flock

Kobe Bolanos
Business Administration, Information Systems Minor

From caws to career connections, Kobe Bolanos ’20 is ahead of the game with a full-time position lined up at Armstrong Flooring following his graduation.

Kobe Bolanos, a Business Administration major and Information Systems minor, is president of the newest—and largest—club on campus, the Ravens Flock, a partnership between the Baltimore Ravens and Stevenson University.

As the club’s president, Kobe collaborates with members of the Ravens front office—typically the marketing team—to develop strategies to create, attract, and retain fans on SU’s campus. Their main strategy is offering students exposure to the professional sports industry.

From community service and employment opportunities to gameday experiences, Kobe is at the helm of this unique initiative that brings direct connections to career to Stevenson students, hand-in-hand with exceptional experiences. “Being able to work with the Baltimore Ravens closely has been an amazing opportunity not only for me but for the Stevenson community.”

In addition to growing the Flock, Kobe was a Finance and Accounting Intern with Armstrong Flooring in Pennsylvania during the summer of 2019. Through this internship, he was able to sharpen his interpersonal skills in a corporate environment and engage in real-world projects, such as developing pricing strategies for products sourced from China and modeling the profitability impact amid recent tariff increases. Furthermore, he created an interactive tool for financial analysts that notified them of new pricing procedures. “The most beneficial part of the experience was the ability to present my research and recommendations to senior level management.”

Following his graduation in May 2020, Kobe will join Armstrong Flooring full-time in their Finance Professional Development Program. Through the program, Kobe will spend approximately three years in 9-month rotation assignments within various areas such as Audit, Treasury, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Controllers, and Manufacturing Finance.
