Stevenson hockey player Austin Swingle manages to juggle being hockey captain, SGA involvement, and taking on a Bachelor's to Master's option — a shining example of a Mustang committed to success!
As a student-athlete at Stevenson, Austin has taken advantage of the opportunities to further both his athletic and academic careers. His spot as team captain on Stevenson’s inaugural men’s NCAA DIII ice hockey team scored him an exceptional experience when the team traveled to France and Switzerland for the International Exhibition Games. During the trip, the team competed in four exhibition games with French professional teams and one with a Swiss professional team. The team toured Geneva and Neuchantel in Switzerland as well as Chancy, Chamonix, Mt. Blanc, and Meribel, France.
Austin has jumped at the chance to extend his education with Stevenson’s B.S. to M.S. option (Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/ M.S. in Healthcare Management), through which he is combining his passions and working toward degrees in both business administration and healthcare management. His long-term goal after completing his college education is to run a hospital.
Austin is involved in the Student Government Association and Financial Management Association. On and off the ice, Austin’s involvement in the community has fostered a sense of family while helping him create the future he imagines.
"Stevenson has given me many opportunities to follow my vision for success. My bachelor’s and master’s degrees will help me achieve my goal of becoming a hospital administrator.”
