Brown School of Business and Leadership
With the support of numerous individuals, corporations, foundations, and public agencies, Stevenson raised funds to build a new 60,000 square foot School of Business and Leadership, which was named the Howard S. Brown School of Business and Leadership in April 2008 after the Baltimore builder/developer.  Notably, the Brown School of Business and Leadership now enrolls over 660 students, which is one-fourth of the University’s total undergraduate population.

“Capital projects are always an important step for a university to remain at the pinnacle of technology and student services,” comments Charles E. “Ted” Herget, Jr., Honorary Campaign Chair.  “The opening of the new School of Business and Leadership was even more important, though, because it showcased high-level support for the University.  More than 20 spaces are named in honor of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters, including the library and many classrooms and faculty offices.”

Scholarship Endowment
“It is exciting that this Campaign has established 20 new scholarship endowments for our students,” remarks Kevin J. Manning, Ph.D., President.  Over 90 percent of Stevenson’s students receive financial aid or scholarship support, and endowed scholarship awards provide a strong base for that assistance.

Special Programs
Academic and other special programs at Stevenson University are the heart of each student’s experience.  Support for this priority of the campaign reached $7.3 million and represents approximately one-third of the overall amount raised.

“Many gifts to the Campaign highlight the academic excellence of Stevenson as an institution of higher education.  For example, we received federal money to establish an Office of Research Development for our science faculty, we received state money to expand enrollment in our nursing program, and we received private support to fund our Law Clinic, which serves underserved populations in metro-Baltimore,” shares Paul D. Lack, Ph.D., Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean.

Annual Fund
The Stevenson Fund generates annual support for the University’s areas of greatest need and therefore has a direct and immediate impact on each student's experience.  “We had 3,000 donors support the Stevenson Fund over the life of the Campaign,” reports Tammi Scott-Lynch, Director of the Stevenson Fund. “The Stevenson Fund campaign success is a reality made possible through alumni, parents and friends who cast a vote of confidence in a Stevenson education by making a gift.”

The Nick Mueller Society is the leadership giving circle for the Stevenson Fund.  Carol Dombrowski, Director of Individual Giving, states, “The Campaign really reached out to leadership donors.  I am happy to report that we have welcomed 349 new members in the Nick Mueller Society since the start of the Campaign in 2005.”  The University will soon unveil a donor wall in the lobby of the Brown School of Business and Leadership honoring all donors who made gifts of $1,000 or more to the Campaign.

The Brown School of Business and Leadership located on Stevenson University’s Owings Mills campus.
