School of the Sciences

The School of the Sciences at Stevenson University makes inquiry the foundation of a creative synergy between faculty and students that enhances student learning.

  • Students will engage in inquiry-based, active learning projects beginning in their freshman year.
  • Students will build a strong foundation in the concepts and methods of science and mathematics.
  • Students will learn to work in teams, building relational skills in addition to intellectual acumen.
  • Students will develop effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Students will conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Students will complete a senior capstone experience that requires them to integrate the knowledge, laboratory skills, problemsolving skills, and critical thinking abilities acquired during their undergraduate experience.

In addition to our traditional programs, students have an innovative opportunity to accelerate their studies in Stevenson’s BS/MS programs. A student can complete a bachelor’s degree in either biotechnology or chemistry as well as a master’s degree in forensic science in as few as five years.

School of the Sciences graduates are wellprepared for employment in the public and private sectors and for further study in graduate and professional schools.
