The School of Education officially opened in Fall 2009.
The School of Education is best known for providing field placements early in the programs, providing an extensive preparation in using technology to improve instruction, and preparing highly qualified teachers.
There are two clubs associated with the School of Education:
Stevenson is the only university in Maryland to offer an approved middle school program and is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
The School of Education provides a variety of learning beyond opportunities:
Five students have participated in study abroad opportunities offered by the School of Education.
There are six full-time faculty members that teach within the School of Education.
There are 34 part-time faculty members that teach within the School of Education.
There are currently 225 students that attend the School of Education.
Dean Deborah Kraft, Ph.D., began her career as a public school teacher in Franklin, MA and has been in higher education since 1987.
