Technology Tips for New Students

• If you are planning to bring a computer to campus, your computer must be running one of the following operating systems: Windows XP • Windows Vista • Apple OS 10.3
• Wireless internet access for laptop computers is available in many locations at both the Greenspring and Owings Mills campuses.
• Recommended minimum specifications for new computers as well as links to manufacturers who offer our students generous educational discounts are available on the Office of Information Technology website.
• The Uniersity Store offers a variety of software to purchase for your personal use at a significant educational discount over typical retailers. It is recommended that you check the prices in the College Store before making any software purchases for your computer.
• Requests for service can be submitted at 443-334-3000, e-mail techconnection@stevenson.edu, or by visiting the Academic Center Room 302 for walk-in support.

Students living in the Residence Halls should bring the following:

• Cat 5e Ethernet Cable for internet access
• Coaxial Cable for your television
• Telephone and telephone cord
• Students living in the Residence Halls do not have to purchase antivirus software. McAfee Antivirus software will be provided for you.
