Orientation Adventures

Orientation Adventures are a series of optional social and community service activities which are designed to help you get involved over the summer, meet new incoming freshmen, and get to know SU staff and faculty. Whether you are an outdoor adventure person, one who likes to lend a helping hand, one who loves culture, or a sports fan -- there is an Orientation Adventure for you.

All SU freshmen will have the opportunity to sign up at Mustang Days in June 2011 for all of the adventures and receive a FREE gift, too.

    Service Project: First Fruits Farm

    Arrive at 4:00 p.m. Return at 9:00 p.m.

    We will be assisting a local farm in harvesting their crops. All of First Fruits Farm’s produce is donated to local organizations which assist the hungry so that they may have fresh foods.  Wear closed-toed shoes, light-weight clothing, and bring a water bottle. We’ll have a meet and greet pizza party before we leave.  Transportation and dinner provided.

    Bring your river shoes and a dry change of clothes because we’re going tubing! It will be a great day floating along the beautiful Gunpowder River. Pack a lunch and we’ll picnic as we dry off. Transportation, all equipment, and snacks provided.  

    Paintball Madness!

    With multiple playing fields to choose from, both advanced and beginner players can have a great time. Paintball is a high-action team sport. You won't want to miss this adventure! Make sure you are wearing long pants and long sleeves that are okay to get messy.  Pizza and sodas are provided for dinner.

    Teams of SU students will compete to beat the clock as they discover Midtown Manhattan with a fun scavenger hunt.  You will then have time to either explore and shop or purchase an optional ticket to Harry Potter: The Exhibition at Discovery Times Square. This additional ticket is $20. Please indicate on the order form if you wish to purchase this additional ticket.

    Watch the ORIOLES play against their rivals, the NEW YORK YANKEES from the upper reserve with other Stevenson University students, both new and returning! This is a great way to celebrate the beginning of the school year with new friends.     Philadelphia has so much to offer as a day trip for Stevenson– Visit the Franklin Institute, The Independence Visitor’s Center, or take a walking tour of historic sites.  Be back by 2:00pm because we will be spending the afternoon and evening at the King of Prussia Mall, the largest mall on the east coast!
