Stevenson, MD – Stevenson University Online has received approval from the Maryland Higher Education Commission to offer the state’s first online Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics. Combining cybersecurity concepts and skills with those in the field of digital forensics creates a unique degree specifically designed to respond to the growing demand for specialists with the expertise to combat cyber crimes. The program will begin in fall 2018.

On the local, national, and international levels, there is a critical need for cybersecurity and digital forensics professionals who can confront the increase of cyber attacks and hacking incidents. In Maryland, there is a critical need due to the proximity of the Federal Government, the military, and government contractors.

“Our program specifically addresses this need as it focuses on the prevention, detection, and mitigation of cyber attacks by providing students with the ability to gather digital evidence and conduct electronic crime investigations,” said Joyce Becker, Esq., Dean of Stevenson University Online.

Stevenson’s program is a 120-credit program with rolling admission, allowing students to apply and attend courses throughout the year. Developed for working professionals, Stevenson’s Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics bachelor’s program is offered in a fully online format. Experiential components, including access to simulation software and the ability to apply classroom learning into a hands-on experience, will provide students with a distinctive learning experience to position them become highly qualified and competent industry professionals.
