Center for Excellence in Teaching

The Center for Excellence in Teaching was created in 2004 to provide support for faculty professional development, encourage effective use of technology in teaching, and provide resources for faculty on enhancing teaching effectiveness.

SERVICES

The following is a partial list of services available through the CET:

  • Structures programs and workshops to enhance teaching effectiveness
  • Informal programs (such as teaching circles) to promote collegiality and improve interdisciplinary communication
  • Individual mentoring for faculty on teaching-related issues
  • Support for faculty seeking promotion
  • Support services for annual faculty performance evaluations
  • Funding for faculty conference attendance
  • Funding faculty research grants
  • Publication of Faculty Matters, the faculty newsletter
  • Programs for faculty recognition
