The Office of Career Services is dedicated to helping students and alumni with all of their job related needs. Through the various career fairs and networking opportunities, everyone is given the chance to interact with employers and learn how to mingle. This year we invited Stevenson University Alum, Matthew Morris, to be our special keynote speaker and share his journey transiting from the Army to college, and now working for Pay Pal.

Veterans are very important to Stevenson University and their presence is growing on campus. The experiences of veterans is much different from your average student, which is why Operation Career: A Veterans Employment Event was created.

This event was designed specifically for veterans to be able to network with employers that are devoted to hiring service members. Veterans will be able to sit down and have face-to-face interaction with the employers.

Bank of America which funds the Student Veteran Program presents, Operation Career is completely free for any veteran. Several employers have already signed up for the event including: CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Enterprise, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Social Security Administration, United Parcel Service, and many more.

Our veterans should be wearing professional dress and have their resumes on hand for this fair. The event will be taking place on April 27 at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Rockland Banquet room, finger sandwiches as well as coffee and tea are going to be available.

Be sure to register on Handshake. If you have any questions regarding the event or resume preparation, contact our very own Veterans Career Advocate, Shane Knickman ( 410-493-7469.
