Career fairs are essential for students who want to connect with employers and potentially secure a job position, or at the very least, get a job lead. Not only is it a great way to meet various employers in one place and learn more about the types of positions they offer, but meeting an employee at a career fair is a great way to learn about the company culture and values of the organization. It is guaranteed that you will learn more about the job and the organization at a career fair than you would from a short paragraph description in a job posting.

The Maryland Career Consortium (MCC) hosts this career fair annually, partnering with fourteen educational institutions in Maryland. It's a great way for Stevenson students to get off campus and network with employers and students from other institutions. This year, the MCC Career fair will be hosted at Notre Dame of Maryland. It will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Stevenson will have a shuttle with 44 open seats, leaving from Rockland at 9:30 am to Notre Dame, returning at 2:30. Reserve a seat in events under MCC Fair bus on Handshake.

The employers attending the fair are coming from “various local, regional and national industries including the government, private and non-profit sectors." There is going to be roughly 100 companies and organizations attending the fair, current students and alumni are welcome. Even if you are not actively seeking a job or internship, attending the fair allows you to practice your communication and networking skills.. it's a win/win!

Come in for walk-in hours Monday through Friday 1-3pm and Wednesdays from 5-7pm to get your resume ready for the career fair or make an appointment with your Industry Specialist.
