This past summer, Tara Shishmanian '15, a Business Communication graduate, spent 17 days in Haiti as part of a service mission with Angel Wings International.  Participating in the Grand Install project, she was able to help install electricity, running water, cabinetry and air conditioning in Angel Wings International's clinic.

Following her trip, she began her ten month contract with AmeriCorps working as a volunteer coordinator for the St. Bernard Project in Chalmette, Louisiana. Tara assists with scheduling volunteers and leads weekly volunteer orientation.

Stevenson University Alumni Board Vice President, Shervonne Cherry '05, accepted her position as the Community Manager at Spark Baltimore in 2015. On Friday evening, during the company's grand opening, Shervonne kicked off the program with remarks about the new collaborative coworking space located at the Offices at Power Plant Live.

Spark was developed with the goal of facilitating the work of creators and innovators in Baltimore. Shervonne was quoted in the Baltimore Sun stating that, "what's unique about the space is we're not just a building, we're a community." She was joined on stage by a variety of influencial speakers, including Governor Larry Hogan, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and developer and owner of Spark, David Cordish.

Phyllis Strader ’15 (center) was featured in the Carroll County Times for receiving a well-deserved honor that recognized her hard work as a non-traditional student at Stevenson University.
