Transfer Applicants
Q: What credits are transferable?
A:
Stevenson University will accept a maximum of 70 transfer credits from a regionally accredited community college and 90 credits from a four-year institution. The courses and credits completed with a grade of C or better at other regionally accredited institutions are transferable to Stevenson.
All transferable courses must be comparable to courses offered at this University. Classes that do not transfer include developmental/remedial, personal development, and orientation courses. Regardless of the number of transfer credits accepted, students must still complete the academic program requirements as shown in the Catalog.
In many cases the age of the credits is irrelevant. If your major is governed by an outside licensing body, such as nursing, consult the catalog as well as a transfer counselor at SU as there are expiration dates for certain classes.
A useful website for determining the transferability of credits is ARTSYS. Since ARTSYS is constantly being updated, it is recommended that you still consult with a SU Transfer Counselor.
