    Stevenson University is holding drawings for one year of tuition, fees, room and board for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Giveaway 1

September 24 Open House: Tuition, Room and Board Giveaway for Seniors

Stevenson University will hold a drawing for current high school seniors attending the September 24, 2016 Open House. Register prior to the event. When arriving on campus, check in by 9 a.m.

Selection and Announcement of Winners 

  • For the giveaway, all students meeting the qualifications above will be entered into a drawing; one winner will be chosen at random.
  • The winner will be notified and announced on the Stevenson University Admissions Blog about one week following the event.

Giveaways 2 and 3

October 15 and November 19 Open House Events - Tuition, Room, and Board Giveaways for Seniors who apply by December 1

For the October 15, 2016 and November 19, 2016 Open House events, Stevenson University will hold one drawing per event for current high school senior attendees who apply to the University by December 1, 2016. Register prior to the event. When arriving on campus, check in by 9 a.m. Apply via the University’s application or the Common Application by December 1.

Selection and Announcement of Winners 

  • For the giveaways, all students meeting the qualifications above will be entered into a drawing; one winner will be chosen at random for each event.
  • The winners will be notified and announced on the Stevenson University Admissions Blog in mid-December.

Giveaways 4 and 5

Tuition, Room, and Board Giveaway for Seniors who apply by December 1 and February 1

To qualify for Giveaway 4 and/or 5, a student must:

  • Apply as a freshman for admission for fall 2017 on or before December 1, 2016 to qualify for Giveaway 4. Apply as a freshman for admission for fall 2017 on or before February 1, 2017 to qualify for Giveaway 5..
  • Be accepted to the University for fall 2017.
  • Attend any on-campus visit event sponsored by the Admissions Office after being accepted. Register with the Admissions Office when arriving on-campus. The last possible qualifying visit program is Accepted Students’ Day on April 1, 2017. Visit opportunities are listed at visit.stevenson.edu and accepted students will receive separate invitations to designated events open only to admitted students.

Selection and Announcement of Winner

  • All students meeting the qualifications above will be entered into a drawing; one winner will be chosen at random for each Giveaway.
  • Students qualifying for entry into Giveaway 4 will automatically qualify for entry into Giveaway 5 as well.
  • The winners will be announced on the Stevenson University Admissions Blog on Friday, April 7.

Information for All Giveaways

In order to receive the prize, the selected student must:
  • Apply as a freshman for admission for fall 2017 on or before December 1, 2016 for Giveaway 2, 3, and 4; apply on or before February 1, 2017 for Giveaway 1.
  • Be accepted to the University for fall 2017.
  • Enroll at Stevenson as a first-time, full-time, degree-seeking student for the fall 2017 semester. The $300 enrollment deposit is due by May 1, 2017 to confirm enrollment.
  • This prize cannot be deferred and will be forfeited by the winner if s/he does not enroll full-time at Stevenson for the fall 2017 semester.
  • No money will be refunded to the student in the event of withdrawal or dismissal from Stevenson University.
Effect on Financial Aid Award
  • The winner will receive grant money from Stevenson that covers the difference between the total of Stevenson scholarship, Stevenson need-based grant funding, Federal grant funding, and/or State of Maryland grant funding and total billed charges for tuition, fees, SU suite and an “A” Meal Plan.
  • If the winner commutes rather than living on-campus, the prize will be the difference between the financial aid listed above and total billed charges for tuition, fees, and the cost of the “E” Meal Plan (Commuter Meal Plan).
  • The winner can expect the same level of financial aid funding for the 2018-2019 academic year as they were awarded for 2017-2018 before the addition of the prize-related grant money was added.
Content and Value of Prize
  • Full-time tuition and fees for the fall 2017 and spring 2018 semester. Exact value to be determined in March 2017 when the Stevenson Board of Trustees sets 2017-2018 tuition and fees.
  • Stevenson University suite for fall 2017 and spring 2018. Exact housing assignment to be determined by residence life. Exact value to be determined in March 2017 when the Stevenson Board of Trustees sets 2017-2018 housing costs.
  • “A” Meal Plan for fall 2017 and spring 2018. Exact value to be determined in March 2017 when the Stevenson Board of Trustees sets 2017-2018 meal plan costs.
  • If the winner commutes rather than living on-campus, the prize will include tuition, fees, and the cost of the “E” Meal Plan (Commuter Meal Plan).
  • Tax Note: Based on “A” Meal Plan and SU Suite, the current value of this prize is $6,351 per semester. Exact value of the prize for fall 2017 will be determined by Stevenson’s Board of Trustee’s in March 2017. If you enroll at Stevenson and accept this prize, the monetary value for the fall 2017 semester should be reported as miscellaneous income on the recipient’s (the student’s) 2017 taxes and the monetary value for spring 2018 on the recipient’s 2018 taxes. Note: The monetary value of tuition and fees does not have to be reported as miscellaneous income.
