Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access Grant and Partnership Program

Stevenson University enrolls more students through the Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access Grant Program than any other independent institution in Maryland. This state grant program is available to individuals who have obtained a General Educational Development Diploma (GED) and are under the age of 26 or current Maryland high school seniors who will complete a college preparatory program with a minimum, cumulative, unweighted 2.5 high school GPA and whose families meet certain income requirements. This grant is good at any Maryland college or university and is currently worth $19,300 per year as a full-time student at Stevenson University.

Beginning with freshmen enrolling for the fall 2016 semester, through the new Guaranteed Access Partnership Program (GAPP), Stevenson University is proud to provide recipients of the Guaranteed Access Grant with a matching grant, up to the full amount of our tuition and fees. As we are unable to award more than the full amount of tuition and fees, please note that the matching funds may include the Stevenson awards already received. Stevenson’s matching grant is renewable for four years as long as you continue to meet the state’s eligibility requirements for the Guaranteed Access Grant.

To be considered, you should complete the FAFSA by March 1. FAFSA’s received after March 1 will not be eligible. To renew the award, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress, successfully complete 24-30 credits, submit the FAFSA by March 1 each year, and continue to meet certain income requirements, which are subject to change yearly and are posted on MHEC’s webpage.
