Throughout the year, the Freshmen Admissions staff reads thousands of applications, where we learn a lot about you, as students. Now is your chance to learn a little something about the person reading your application, signing your decision letter and chatting with you over the phone and email. Meet our staff... 

Glenda Abney is an Assistant Director of Admissions and is a Baltimore City native. This travel season, she will be visiting Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Baltimore City, and Prince George’s County (MD).

Where is your favorite place to eat while you are traveling? I love getting home cooked meals at my cousin’s house while I am in the Atlanta area.

Fun Fact: I sold Range Rovers, Cadillac’s, Jaguars, and Rolls Royce cars years ago.

 

Jen Antonelli, Admissions Counselor, is a 2015 Stevenson University alumni with a degree in Business Communication. This travel season, Jen will be visiting New York, Cecil County (MD), Harford County (MD), and select Baltimore County schools.

What are you most looking forward to this year? I am excited to see all the students I meet on the road in NY and MD at Open Houses during the fall.

Fun Fact: I spent my 20th birthday in Italy on a study abroad trip through Stevenson. While visiting Pisa, our tour guide surprised me with an Italian dessert and had our group sing happy birthday to me right by the Leaning Tower!

Andrew Boyer, Admissions Counselor, is the newest addition to the team and is a 2014 Stevenson University graduate! A native of Delaware, Andrew will be frequenting Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, southern New Jersey, Delaware and Perry Hall High School in MD.

Favorite thing about Stevenson: The sense of community you get every time you walk on campus.

Fun fact: Earlier this fall I ran in a 200 mile relay race.

 

Geraldine Cantor, Admissions Counselor, is one of the newer members of our team. Fluent in Spanish, and a Maryland native, Geraldine will be traveling to Florida, Washington, D.C., the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and a handful of Western Baltimore County Schools.

What is your favorite place to eat while traveling?: Panera. I love getting reward points!

Fun Fact:  I was on the Surf Team at my alma mater. I could stand on the board so I made the team.

 

Kelly Farmer is the Director of Freshman Admissions and has been at Stevenson for 14 years.  This travel season, she will be visiting Howard County (MD), Jemicy School (MD), and John Carroll School (MD).

What are you most looking forward to this year? Taking my five-month old daughter to her first two professional conferences.

Fun Fact: I am a big fan of Olympic gymnastics, SU’s Marching 100, and Starbucks coffee.

 

Elizabeth Fitzgerald is the Associate Director of Admissions and has been at Stevenson for 10 years. She is an Athletic Liaison for Admissions and will be visiting select areas of Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Carroll County (MD), Catonsville High School (MD), Institute of Notre Dame (MD), and Seton Keough High School (MD).

What is your favorite thing about Stevenson? It’s hard to name just one, but I have to say the people here are really special. Our administration, faculty, staff, and students are bright, innovative, forward-thinking, and kind.

Fun Fact: I have two dogs; a Beagle named Sandy, and a Black Lab named Pink.

Katie Harding, Assistant Director of Admissions, is a native of Virginia, but has been at Stevenson for 4 years. This travel season, she will be visiting Virginia, Montgomery County (MD), and select Baltimore County schools.

What is one thing you cannot live without while on the road? My miniature mustang mascot, Little Stang. I like to take pictures of him between school visits and college fairs!

Fun Fact: On January 4, 2009, I climbed the Great Wall. This was part of my winter Study Abroad experience in college. I recommend any study abroad experience to students; I have many great memories from my trip.

Michelle Illar is an Admissions Counselor and is also an Athletic Liaison for Admissions. This travel season, she will be visiting the northern part of New Jersey (Monmouth and Mercer Counties and north), and some eastern Baltimore County school.

What is your favorite thing to listen to in the car? Two words: Taylor. Swift.

Fun Fact: I was in an eating contest in college and came in 4th. The key to eating a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in 10 minutes is to flatten the air out.

 

Kelly Jerzyk, Assistant Director of Admission, is originally from Connecticut, but has been at Stevenson for 5 years. This travel season, she will be visiting New England and Baltimore Area Private Schools.

What are you most looking forward to this year? Accepted Students’ Day! It’s a great feeling to see the students you met on the road on campus and excited about SU!

Fun Fact: I was a student ambassador at my alma mater and loved it so much that I now coordinate the student ambassadors at SU! You can meet them when you visit campus.

Carol McDaniel is the Director of Campus Visits and has been at Stevenson for over 21 years. She is also working on her second Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies at SU. This travel season, she will be visiting Frederick County (MD), Washington County (MD), Garrett County (MD), and Alleghany County (MD).

What is your favorite thing about Stevenson?  I enjoy the energy of the students!

Fun Fact:  I eat Cheerios all day long.

 

Marty Schmidt is an Assistant Director of Admissions and a Maryland native. This travel season, he will be visiting southern Maryland, Anne Arundel County, Loch Raven High School (MD), and Towson High School (MD).  

What is your favorite thing about Stevenson?  Walter, the cookie man.

Fun Fact: I once got trapped in a parking garage during a travel season.
