Spring Visits for Admitted Students

We started mailing our first admit packets in early October and have stayed busy reviewing students for admission to the Class of 2021. (If you are still applying, that’s ok. The final scholarship consideration deadline is February 1).  As students begin to receive their decisions, they start to think about where they would like to attend college. Deciding where to enroll may seem overwhelming. You will need to ask yourself, what are you looking for and how do you know you have found the right school? You will probably want to visit schools in the spring to help guide your decision. You may be visiting for the first or maybe even fifth time. We offer many opportunities for admitted students to visit in the spring to experience life on campus.  ...Click here to read more.

Open House

Our next Open House is tomorrow, will you be in the crowd?

As we prepare for May 1, we also start looking forward to working with next year’s class. Our office will be hosting an Open House tomorrow specifically designed for 9-11 graders. (There will be a concurrent Open House for prospective Transfer students.) At the Open House, students and their families will have the opportunity to meet and speak with faculty and current students, and tour both the Greenspring and Owings Mills campuses. This program introduces students to Stevenson and offers information regarding admissions, financial aid and scholarships, and academic programs. Guests are also invited to get a taste of what it's like to be a SU student by dining with us for lunch!

For many students, this may be their first visit to Stevenson or any college campus. We have some advice to ensure you and your family get the most out of your visit....Click here to read more.

Spring Travel

The weather is warming up and our staff is hitting the road once again! We travel extensively in the fall, but being in the office for a few months starts to make us wish we were back on the road. Spring travel is a bit different than fall travel, as we are meeting sophomores and juniors and helping them begin their college search process.  Our schedules are less structured compared to fall travel, so it can be hard to keep track of where everyone is on any given day. Check with your counselor to see if they are visiting your area or check the list below. ...Click here to read more.

Before and After Oct Open House

Pictured above is the Owings Mills Gymnasium during set-up and below is the full crowd at the start of the program.

The Admissions Office hosted our second fall Open House on Saturday, October 17. Over 280 prospective freshmen and transfer students from 12 states and Washington, D.C. spent the day learning about the university. At an Open House, students hear about what it is like to be a student at SU, learn admissions and financial aid procedures, attend a faculty-led academic presentation, and take campus tours. Guests also eat lunch in our dining hall and students who attend are entered into a drawing to win a suite in a residence hall for one semester. Needless to say, it is a great opportunity to visit campus. Luckily, there is another Open House being hosted on Saturday, November 21. Learn more and register for that session. While guests enjoy learning about SU, our staff spends the day making sure everything runs smoothly....Click here to read more.
