Open House

Our next Open House is tomorrow, will you be in the crowd?

As we prepare for May 1, we also start looking forward to working with next year’s class. Our office will be hosting an Open House tomorrow specifically designed for 9-11 graders. (There will be a concurrent Open House for prospective Transfer students.) At the Open House, students and their families will have the opportunity to meet and speak with faculty and current students, and tour both the Greenspring and Owings Mills campuses. This program introduces students to Stevenson and offers information regarding admissions, financial aid and scholarships, and academic programs. Guests are also invited to get a taste of what it's like to be a SU student by dining with us for lunch!

For many students, this may be their first visit to Stevenson or any college campus. We have some advice to ensure you and your family get the most out of your visit....Click here to read more.

Earlier this year Stevenson announced a tuition giveaway drawing for two students accepted for the fall 2016 freshman class. There were two drawings. To be eligible for the first drawing, students had to apply by our priority scholarship deadline of December 1, be accepted to Stevenson for the fall, and then visit the university for an Admissions-sponsored visit event after being admitted. To be eligible for the second drawing, students had to apply by our final scholarship deadline of February 1, be accepted to Stevenson for the fall, and then visit the university for an Admissions-sponsored visit event after being admitted. The final qualifying visit event was Accepted Students' Day on Saturday, April 2 and winners are being posted here on the blog today! Students who qualified for the first drawing were automatically qualified for the second drawing. Full drawing details are posted at

We had 775 students who qualified to be included in our first drawing and 1,023 who qualified to be in the second.

And our winners are:

Morgan DeColli
South Carroll High School
Mt. Airy, MD

Ashley Williams
Howard High School
Elkridge, MD

Congratulations to our winners! The Admissions Office will be reaching out to both of you to discuss your prize.

Students who deposit at Accepted Students' Day or in our office afterwards can pick up one of these fun buttons! We'll also have some available at Mustang Days this summer if you don't get one before then.

For most people, April 1 is a day to watch out for practical jokes, outrageous news stories, and fake social media posts. In the Admissions Office it’s the day we officially start counting down to May 1. May 1 is the National Candidate’s Reply Date, the date all colleges and universities in the country use as a deadline for accepted students to confirm whether or not they plan to attend in the fall. By the way, May 1 falls on a Sunday this year, so we’ll recognize May 2 as the deadline and so should any other school....Click here to read more.
