In Admissions, the fall is known as “travel season”. Our staff spends weeks meeting prospective students during high school visits and college fairs. The end of November and month of December look very different. This time period is often referred to as “reading season”. Our staff spends most of their time in the office reading applications and participating in Admissions Committee. In fact if you have recently tried to call or email a member of our staff, you may have received a message stating they were in the office but participating in Committee. Admission materials are all stored online, so our staff is glued to their computer screens. We always make sure to take some breaks though - keep reading to see what really happens during reading season.
For some of our staff, caffeine is essential to surviving reading season.
Pizza is brain food or so we’d like to believe.
Team work makes the dream work and it makes the Common Application system work, too.
These not only supported a Senior Class fundraiser, but supported our staffs’ sweet tooth.
If we have a moment, you might find our staff enjoying lunch together.
