  • Option 2: Testing at Stevenson University the morning of your orientation (Mustang Day)

    (This option is not recommended)

If testing beforehand, either at Stevenson University or remotely, is not viable, students can consider completing placement testing the morning of their scheduled orientation Mustang Day. Testing on Mustang Days begins promptly at 8:30 am and must be completed prior to the course advising portion (~11:30 am) of the day’s program.

SELECT OPTION 2 FOR PLACEMENT TESTING

Note: Completing placement testing the morning of orientation can introduce additional stress to the testing environment. To better mitigate the potential test anxiety that can sometimes prevent students from doing their best work, Stevenson strongly encourages all students to complete placement testing before your Mustang Day whenever possible, either during designated testing dates on-campus (Option 1) or remotely by request (Options 3 or 4).

  • Option 3: Testing remotely at your home residence

(Recommended for all students, who reside 100 miles or more from campus)

Students residing more than 100 miles from campus are eligible to request remote test proctoring at their home residence. Stevenson University works with B Virtual Online Proctoring to provide this service by creating and sending a remote testing voucher. Upon test completion students’ score reports are immediately available to Stevenson staff, and their results, including English and math course eligibility, are typically delivered electronically within 3-5 business days of testing.

Technical requirements for this service include: a working webcam, and a computer with a stable Internet connection in a private location. Students are responsible for a $25 proctoring fee (paid to B Virtual).

To ensure there is sufficient time to process requests and results in advance of Mustang Days orientation, any requests for remote test proctoring must be received no later than Friday, June 8.

    Advantages of selecting Option 3:

    • Although there is a $25 proctoring charge, this is still often a more cost-effective option for students who live relatively far from the Stevenson University campus.

    • Testing ahead of time allows more time and options to consider for re-testing, in the event you feel results achieved do not match your current academic abilities, and/or for approved developmental coursework at other institutions over the summer.

Students residing 100 miles or more away from campus are eligible to request remote test proctoring, including exam re-takes, at a pre-approved local area institution or testing center. Students are responsible for any remote proctoring fees incurred; and results, including English and math course eligibility, are delivered electronically 3-5 business days after testing.

To ensure there is sufficient time to process requests and results in advance of the Mustang Days orientation, any requests for remote test proctoring must be received no later than Friday, June 8.

    Advantages of selecting Option 4:
