RISE Stevenson will be hosting an open mic event on April 1st, 7:00 pm, in Rockland conference room A. This event will feature creative speakers from campus clubs speaking on issues such as gender, religion, sexual orientation, disabilities, race, and how bringing awareness to the words we use in our daily lives can change the inequalities we face.
There will also be a time for YOU to stand up and use your words to bring awareness and empower others. So come prepared with a poem, a dance, a song, words, or an idea, and start to initiate change!
Interested in speaking at our open mic? Speakers have 3 minutes to express themselves through a speech, a poem, a song, or any form of creative expression you desire to address an issue of inequality.
