For the 2014 Lego Challenge, first year Human Services students created an ambitious sculpture representing career architecture as a bridge on their professional journey. The students were, Amanda Tran, Kendra Lyle, Julia Hamlett, Brenna Lough, and Shai Fenwick.

At the 2014 conference of the National Organization for Human Services in October in Las Vegas, Nevada, students Chris Ambrose and Morgan Burns presented a poster on Stevenson’s Career ArchitectureSM model. Human Services professionals from across the country were in attendance and spoke with Chris and Morgan about how this innovative model is applied in the Human Services program. Faculty members, Tom Swisher and Lauri Weiner both presented sessions at the conference.

The Human Services Club sent 6 members to Our Daily Bread in Baltimore to help prepare and serve food at the Christopher Place dinner service on October 10, 2014. The men who attend this dinner are currently receiving education, training, and support because they were previously homeless in the Baltimore area. The club members who attended were Aliki Argiropoulos, Natalie Bohlen, Michelle Cohen, Margaret Zimmermann, Amanda Erikson, and Megan Kotrla.

On September 27, 2014, the Human Services Club participated in the Walk for Lupus at Patternson Park in Baltimore. It was a beautiful day to get some exercise in support of an excellent cause!
