New Roots is a 60-minute documentary by Adjunct Professor of Film & Moving Image Exsul Van Helden about the challenges faced by female immigrants and refugees who came to the United States and find themselves living between cultures. Women from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic groups share their experiences and feeling about assimilation, values, child-rearing, and being foreign-born in contemporary American Society
