Last night's STEVIE U 72 – our second annual 72-Hour Film Festival, sponsored by Canon – was a resounding success. And the winners are:

  • 1st Place + Audience-Award Winner: Storytime, by Adrienne Civetti, Jessie Dubyoski and Brooks Gray
  • 2nd Place: Vengeance, by Kevin Pullias, Mariam Salahvarzi and Lauren Scott
  • 3rd Place: Home Early, by Josh Herrera, Alex Korty and Adam Vaughn
  • iPhone Winner: Dare to Travel, by Diana Williams

The judges for the event were: President of Stevenson University Dr. Elliot Hirshman, Vice President for Student Affairs (and former President) Claire Moore, and Stevenson alumnus and filmmaker Adam Oberfeld.

Last Friday (Nov. 11), Stevenson's NBS-FMI (National Broadcast Society/Film & Moving Image) Club presented a screening of the films made during its first ever 72-Hour Film Festival (sponsored by DeWolfe Music). The winners, chosen by a panel of three external judges (all alums of our program: Tavon Mayne, Katie Shelton and Sam Tressler), were Kookaloris (No. 1) and H2OhNo! (No. 2, and also the recipient of the Audience Award). Pictured above, from left to right, are Morgan Taylor (part of the team that made Kookaloris) and Kara Stone and Max Iacovelli (part of the team that made H2OhNo!).

The NBS/FMI Club prsents Stevenson's first 72-Hour Film Festival, which will start on Friday, Nov. 4, and end on Monday, Nov. 7 (running, for all intents and purposes, the three days of 11/4, 11/5 and 11/6). You must have teams of three people (though can have many more actors, etc.): a director, cinematographer and editor. This event is open to all members of the Stevenson Community, and is sponsored by DeWolfe Music (http://www.dewolfemusic.com/), a company which licenses music for use in films.

Come to the informational meeting at 2:15pm on 10/28 in Room 304 of the Brown School of Business.
