Northeast Regional Account Manager at Canon USA Lisa Gualtieri came back to Stevenson on Tuesday, February 6, to demo some cameras we are considering buying, including the C200, XC15 and XF400, all of which shoot in 4K. We already have a number of 4K cameras, but any of these would add to our arsenal, at different levels of the curriculum. As always, Lisa was not only a great spokesperson for her company, but a great hands-on teacher, as well. A good, educational time was had by all!

Last night's STEVIE U 72 – our second annual 72-Hour Film Festival, sponsored by Canon – was a resounding success. And the winners are:

  • 1st Place + Audience-Award Winner: Storytime, by Adrienne Civetti, Jessie Dubyoski and Brooks Gray
  • 2nd Place: Vengeance, by Kevin Pullias, Mariam Salahvarzi and Lauren Scott
  • 3rd Place: Home Early, by Josh Herrera, Alex Korty and Adam Vaughn
  • iPhone Winner: Dare to Travel, by Diana Williams

The judges for the event were: President of Stevenson University Dr. Elliot Hirshman, Vice President for Student Affairs (and former President) Claire Moore, and Stevenson alumnus and filmmaker Adam Oberfeld.

  • John Travers, Secretary

  • Robert Morison = PR
  • Caitlyn McElroy = Student Government Liaison

Congratulations to all the winners, and a big thank you to all who participated. See you next year!

The amazing posters, above, were designed by Stevenson Art & Visual Communication Design student Daniel Bedwell. This year's festival is sponsored by Canon.

Today, Canon rep Lisa Gualtieri visited Stevenson Film & Moving Image (FMI) Professor Christopher Ernst's FMI201 (Cinematography I) class to demo Canon's line of EOS C100 Mark II cameras, which we just purchased. Pictured, above, are Lisa, Chris Ernst and assorted students in the seminar.

Lisa Gualtieri of Canon came to visit Stevenson's Film & Moving Image Department on Wednesday, September 30, with an EOS C100 cinema camera in tow, plus some great glass (lenses) for cameras we already own. It was a wonderful demo, and we thank Lisa and Canon for their generous donation of time and expertise. For more photos, check out our Flickr site.
