The students in Chris Ernst's FMI202 Cinematography: Color class have begun shooting scenes on an original music video for the song "The First Ray" by Ernst's instrumental group BELLS≥ . The script for the music video was conceived, written and developed entirely by the class and they will work in smaller production crews to shoot and edit the video. Pictured here shooting a scene using an ARRI Super 16mm film camera are Zoe Maliszewskyj, Mariam Salahvarzi, Erin Orwig, Gloria Hernandez, Jenna Miller, Kyle Whitehead, Chris Ernst and Laura Bowen in front of the camera.

Yesterday, the 9 Stevenson FMI students attending the annual SXSW Film Festival with their instructor, FMI Chair Christopher Llewellyn Reed, went to see a screening of Stevenson Class of 2006 alumnus Nick Kovacic's latest film, Agave: Spirit of a Nation. It was a great event.

Yesterday, a group of 9 Stevenson FMI students + their instructor, FMI Chair Christopher Llewellyn Reed, arrived in Austin, TX, to spend a week at the annual SXSW Film Festival. This is the third such trip the FMI Department has made over the past four years. Students get to see films, network with industry professionals, attend seminars and panels, and have a great time.
