On Sunday, September 24, 2017, two Stevenson English majors, senior Mone Moore and recent graduate Elizabeth Mayer, will read fiction and poetry at the Baltimore Book Festival as part of the annual University Writers’ Program, sponsored by the Ivy Bookshop.

Elizabeth Mayer graduated from Stevenson University with a major in English Language and Literature in May 2016 after completing her Associate’s Degree in Secondary Education at Harford Community College. Before graduation, she had already secured a position as teen librarian at Chesapeake City Branch Library in Cecil County where she “spends her time encouraging teens to read and making slime.”

Mone Moore is a senior English major. Mone explains that in the past, she “produced works in the slipstream and fantasy genres but has recently become interested in writing creative non-fiction.”

The University Writers’ Program brings together writers from University of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins University, UMBC, Towson, Loyola, Stevenson, Goucher, Coppin, Morgan State, and MICA.

The event will be held at the Ivy Bookshop Stage, near the Baltimore Visitors’ Center from 3-5 pm.
