On November 15, Dr. Licastro visited the English Club and showed them a virtual reality video experience for the Man Booker Prize Winning novel, Lincoln in the Bardo, written by George Saunders.

The novel is the first of its kind to be adapted into a Virtual Reality experience, and not only that, it is also up for an Emmy in the Virtual Reality category (a brand new category that was introduced this year) for the 2018 Emmy Awards.

Lincoln in the Bardo deals with the death of Abraham Lincoln’s youngest son, William, who had unfortunately died from typhoid. The novel deals with Abraham Lincoln’s grief over his son by visiting his son’s crypt on occasion to hold William’s dead body. Historical documents mixed with fictionalized dialogue bring Saunders’ novel to life and give his readers another side of Abraham Lincoln.
