BricknFire Pizza Co., established in 2014 by SU BizComm alum Megan Lanasa and Trey Kirby, is the winner of a regional competition for restaurant concepts held by the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards. BricknFire is a mobile brick-oven pizza operation housed at The Breadery, a bake shop owned by Megan’s parents, and which often appears at area farmers’ markets and special events.
As a result of the win, this fall, BricknFire will have a home inside the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards. According to a press release, “BricknFire was chosen by a committee of local restaurateurs, hotel owners, industry experts and food lovers. Marriott will work with BricknFire to suitably equip and build the space (up to a $50,000 investment), and lease terms will be negotiated after six months if the concept proves successful.” Here’s a photo of Megan from her days as a Business Communication intern.
