Mike Byrd, who graduated in December, completed his Capstone internship at Hunt Valley Northwestern Mutual, a financial planning company.  Mike enjoyed working there and was pleased to be offered a position upon graduation!  Mike presented his Capstone project, "The Effect of Granum on the Financial Industry" at the School of the Sciences Poster Session in December.

Applied Math junior, Rebecca Gruver, spent her summer at Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm, as part of the 2017 National Security Scholars Program.  This prestigious program offers substantial scholarships and assistance with national security clearance processing.  

Rebecca loved her experience!  She used her applied math background to work on projects in computer science and engineering.  Rebecca did such a great job that she has already been invited back for another internship for summer 2018!

This summer, Applied Math Senior, Gerald Roman-Gonzalez, completed his capstone internship at the Social Security Administration (SSA).  He worked in the Office of Research, Demonstration and Employment Support. During his internship, Gerald used SAS tools (software used for analytics, analyses and data management) to help SSA researchers identify homeless individuals in the disability applicant pool. Gerald had a wonderful summer at SSA!
