Health & Safety
Your safety and well-being is of primary importance when participating in a study abroad program. While we cannot guarantee your safety – at home or overseas – we take specific precautions to help minimize the risks associated with travel. These include careful vetting and assessment of all affiliate study abroad programs, monitoring international security reports through sources such as the Overseas Security Advisory Council, the U.S. Department of State, the World Health Organization, and the Centers for Disease Control, and working closely with SU’s international health and security insurance provider.
All SU students abroad are enrolled in comprehensive international medical and evacuation insurance through RCM&D and their emergency assistance provider AXA. Accepted students and their families will receive detailed information as part of the pre-departure process for study abroad.
For an emergency involving the immediate well-being of a student or faculty member currently abroad, please contact the Office of International & Off-Campus Study, Monday through Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, at 443-334-2915. Outside of office hours and on holidays, for emergencies only please call Stevenson University Security at 443-352-4500.
