Success Coaches Help You Achieve Your Goals

Freshmen Stevenson students are assigned a Student Success Coach based on their major. Together, they design an individualized plan to help them succeed.

The Student Success Coaches guide and collaborate with traditional freshmen students during their transition to life at Stevenson University. Coaches use a holistic approach with each student to develop an individualized plan for their academic, professional, and personal success. They educate students about university resources and serve as a compass to help them navigate their first year in college. In addition, coaches provide proactive course planning and advising, as well as registration assistance.

  • About Success Coaching

What Does a Success Coach Do?

    • Provide academic advising: Coaches will advise students for registration freshman year and work in conjunction with their respective Department Chairs to facilitate a seamless transition into sophomore Fall semester. After this point, students will transition to a faculty Academic Advisor within their major that will serve as their Academic Advisor until graduation.
    • Develop a plan for success: Students and their Success Coaches will meet regularly to set academic and personal goals with an emphasis on connecting students to Stevenson University and establishing a solid foundation students can build upon in the years to come.
    • Serve as a liaison between students and Stevenson University: Success Coaches will be able to refer students to appropriate campus resources, groups, and activities based on individual needs.
    • Offer support: Success Coaches are here to help as students take on the new experience of transitioning into college life. Coaches understand that adjusting to college for the first time can present challengers, so Coaches provide a friendly, supportive environment for students in order to assist working through those challenges.
