The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program grounds you in the chemical, physical, and biological principles that characterize living systems. You will develop an interdisciplinary mindset that will prepare you to embrace the interdependent nature of these areas of study. In the laboratory, you will develop a wide range of technical skills required in the modern workforce in research and industrial environments. Working with state-of-the-art instrumentation in well-equipped facilities, you will gain excellent lab and analytical skills that will prepare you for future employment or continuing education in graduate or professional school. Upon completion of this program, you will be especially well-prepared for further study in the health sciences, including medical or pharmacy school.

Stevenson's Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science gives you a foundation for understanding and improving the relationship between human society and the organisms, landforms, atmosphere, and ecosystems that make up our natural environment. This program will engage you in a study of the principles, methodologies, and practices of the life, physical, and mathematical sciences as they relate to the environment. The foundational concepts of human systems, such as businesses, governments, and communities, and their impact on the environment, will also be studied. An emphasis on experiential and lifelong learning will prepare you to meet the needs of today's society and the challenges of the future.

Stevenson's Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science is offered in conjunction with Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. The program consists of two years of prerequisite courses in the basic sciences and liberal arts, a third year of liberal arts and professional courses in laboratory medicine, and a fourth year that integrates professional and clinical practicum courses at the Sinai Hospital campus. Unlike other programs in the state, SU's program includes a management practicum in the fourth year, preparing you for leadership positions. With a degree in Medical Laboratory Science, you will be qualified to work in all areas of the medical laboratory, including microbiology, chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. You will also be prepared to take the national certification examination for medical laboratory scientists and to pursue graduate study in medical laboratory science or any of its related areas.

The School of the Sciences at Stevenson University makes inquiry the foundation of a creative synergy between faculty and students that enhances student learning. In addition to our traditional programs, students have an innovative opportunity to accelerate their studies in Stevenson's BS/MS programs. A student can complete a bachelor's degree in either biotechnology or chemistry as well as a master's degree in forensic science in as few as five years.
