Highlights

Ryan Clark is a director, actor and educator located in the Baltimore/DC area. His eclectic directing work includes original plays, re-imagined classics and contemporary texts. His productions of the world premiere Trick and The Super-Hot Raven as well as his production of Sara Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis played at The Baltimore Theatre Project. Some of Ryan’s New York directing credits include, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Laramie Project and Measure for Measure (PPAS) Two Rooms (Blindfold Theatre), Inner Field Boxes and Sessions (The Workshop Theatre) and Remember The Light—a devised piece about 9/11 (Theatre 315). Selected regional and academic credits includes, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear (Florida State University), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Endstation Theatre), Angels in America, Twelfth Night (Harford Community College) and The Bacchai (Towson University).

Ryan serves as Artistic Director of Quarry Theatre—a Baltimore based theatre company that examines history through the lens of live performance. The company devises and deconstructs text to create original work. In 2018, Ryan directed Quarry Theatre’s production of Meditations on Nationalism which received strong reviews.

Prior to coming to Baltimore/D.C., Ryan spent five years as the Performing Arts Director at the Professional Performing Arts School located in New York City—a public high school dedicated to fostering young talent in music, dance and theatre. Currently, Ryan is an assistant professor and program coordinator for Theatre and Media Performance at Stevenson University. Ryan holds an M.F.A. in Directing from Florida State University and is a proud associate member of the Association of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
