Nursing: RN to BS Option

Stevenson University offers the RN to BS Option for registered nurses who have successfully completed prerequisite coursework and college core requirements and would like to obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing. This program builds on students' current expertise and expands their intellectual horizons with a focus on professionalism, excellence in practice, and strategies to meet the challenges of the workplace.

The accelerated curriculum is designed to enable adult learners to complete the baccalaureate degree in nursing in two years, attending part-time. Courses are offered in ten-week terms, some of which have five-week modules. Nurses can choose between face-to-face or online courses. Multiple entry and exit points along the way enable registered nurses to accelerate according to professional and personal desires.

The degree completion option for registered nurses is 120 credits. Registered nurses may transfer prerequisite courses, college core, and nursing program requirements or take them at Stevenson University. In accordance with the Maryland RN to BSN Articulation Model, 30 nursing credits are awarded to the registered nurse with an active, unencumbered Maryland Nursing license upon enrollment into the RN to BS Option. The upper level RN to BS nursing courses comprise 30 credits.
