Interests in Volunteer Projects

Stevenson works with students and community partners to create unique and rewarding experiences that benefit the community.  Volunteering is increasingly important in today’s society.  Community partners are looking for new and better ways to serve their populations and students are demanding opportunities to address the issues facing their community and passions. 

The Learning Beyond Office is a resource for volunteers and non-profit organizations in the region.  We encourage students to get out into the real world through experiential learning programs.  There are a number of opportunities for you to choose from.

Students

  1. Weekly volunteer sites
  2. One time trips
  3. Alternative break trips
  4. “Technical Volunteering.”  These are volunteering opportunities that uniquely your academic and technical skills.  For example, students majoring in accounting can assist a non-profit in Baltimore that is hosting financial literacy programs
  5. Service-Learning opportunities
  6. Club and group volunteer projects

Community Partners

  1. Student interns and volunteers
  2. Weekly trips to your site
  3. Classes specifically crafted to connect your community issues to academic courses
  4. Large scale community volunteering opportunities
